    Roscommon GAA are again running our very successful Gaeltacht scholarship competition for summer of 2017.

    This year there will be six scholarships on offer. Colaiste Cu Chulainn in Gweedore have come on board and are sponsoring three of the awards.

     The competition is open to secondary school students who are members of GAA clubs in Co Roscommon.

    To enter they will need to fill out an application form and complete a 300 essay ‘as gaeilge’ with the title ‘an Cumann Luthcleas Gael agus Daoine Oga’.

    Rules for Gaeltacht scholarships 2017


    This year there will be six scholarships of €300 with two confined to entrants who have competed in Scor/Scor na nog competitions

    All entrants must be members of a GAA competition in Co. Roscommon and a secondary School student in 2016/17 school year.

    Three of the scholarships are sponsored by and are confined to Colaiste Cu Chulainn in Gweedore. Courses in Gweedore are €595 and last for two weeks.

    Successful entrants in 2015/2016 are not eligible to enter in 2017.

    To enter please complete an entry form and an essay entitled  'an Cumann Luthcleas Gael agus daoine Oga'

    Entries must be emailed to the cultural officer at irishculturalofficer.roscommon@gaa.ie or dropped in/posted to the county board offices to arrive by Friday April 28th.

    There is no cash alternative to the scholarship and successful candidates will have to complete a gaeltacht summer course to receive the grant. Decision of the committee is final.
