2026 Roscommon u17 Hurling Panel Announced

March 30th, 2026

Adrian Tully and his management team have named their squad for the upcoming Celtic Challenge competition

The Electric Ireland Celtic Challenge was established in 2016 and has been hugely successful since its inception. The ethos is a developmental one with teams initially competing at group stages. Depending then on results, teams are graded for the knockout stages giving all an opportunity to compete at their own level. The inclusion of second and even third teams from Tier 1 counties has proven very successful as it can result in teams from for example, Christy Ring counties playing teams from Liam MacCarthy counties in a final. These are opportunities that players otherwise would not experience

The Electric Ireland Celtic Challenge is named in recognition of the original juvenile hurling club known as ‘Celtic’. The Divisional trophies are named in memory of 6 of the 14 civilians who were shot dead in Croke Park on Bloody Sunday, 21st November 1920. Michael Hogan [aged 24], Tom Hogan [aged 21], John William Scott [aged 14], William Robinson [aged 11], Jerome O’Leary aged 10] and Michael Feery.

Roscommon will start their competition at home against Westmeath on April 4th, with the venue and time yet to be confirmed. Their next two matches are away games: they face Mayo on April 11th and Donegal on April 25th. The quarter finals are scheduled for May 9th, followed by the semi finals on May 23rd and the final on June 6th.

The Roscommon u17 team will be captained by Jason Carty Padraig Mac Phiarsaigh and the Vice-Captain is Aaron Delaney from Four Roads. Pictured above L-R Aaron Delaney, Jason Carty.
