New Additions to Senior Hurling Backroom Team
Roscommon GAA are delighted to announce two additions to the Roscommon GAA senior hurling coaching team for 2025.
They are Patsy Fahy, St. Joseph’s Doora Barefield and Matty Shannon, Corofin, County Clare.
Patsy Fahy has previously been involved in training Gort, Turloughmore, Doora Barefield, Corofin and Kilmaley as well as the Clare senior camoige team.
Patsy Fahy has said “I am absolutely delighted to get the opportunity to join up with Roscommon and I am looking forward to bringing a new voice and ideas to the hurlers involved and hopefully we can progress this group that’s being assembled to the next level. I know I will give it my very best and I’m very excited to be part of what looks like a very competent management team“
In 2022 Matty Shannon coached Éire Óg, Ennis to a first county final appearance since 1990, losing by a point to Ballyea and in 2023 he coached his home club Corofin to win the Clare Intermediate Hurling Championship and going on to reach the Munster Club Hurling Final.
Matty said ” I am looking forward to the challenge ahead which is about developing and improving the players”
Best wishes to the two men in the year ahead.
