Seamus Qualter is the new Roscommon Senior Hurling Manager.

Roscommon GAA have formally ratified Seamus Qualter as the new senior hurling manager.

Seamus previously managed the Roscommon Senior & U21 hurling teams from 2010 to 2013,


He was in charge of the Roscommon team that won the U21 All Ireland ‘B’ Hurling Championship in 2012, defeating Kildare in the final at Semple Stadium.


In 2013 he was the manager when Roscommon were defeated by Donegal in the Nickey Rackard Cup Final.

Prior to managing Roscommon, Seamus was manager of the Westmeath senior hurling team.

In recent years Seamus managed Athleague when they won the Senior Hurling Championship in 2018 and in 2021 he led Tremane to their first senior final in 25 years. 

Seamus will be assisted by Dathí Hand (Coach) and Peter Galvin (Selector).

Daithí has managed Sligo in the past and was in charge when they won the Lory Meagher & Nickey Rackard titles in 2018 and 2019. Peter was part of Daithí’s management team at this time.

Roscommon GAA Hurling Chairperson, Christy McDermott had said;

“ I would like to welcome Seamus and his management team on board and I hope they will have great success and get the support of the players and Roscommon clubs.”
