Club Pride Takes Centre Stage in a Huge Weekend of Roscommon Hurling Championship Action
Another busy weekend of club championship action lies ahead across Roscommon, with major games in hurling as the race for county honours continues.
The spotlight on Saturday turns to the Gerry Gill Motors Junior Hurling Championship Final, where Four Roads and St Dominic’s will contest the inaugural final in Athleague at 6pm.
The winners will make history as the first recipients of the John Donoghue Cup, kindly sponsored by Pádraig Pearses.
On Sunday, attention switches to Ballyforan and the semi-finals of the Kepak Senior Hurling Championship.
Four Roads’ bid for a fifth successive Senior Championship title faces another major test against Oran, while St Dominic’s and Tremane meet in the second semi-final, with two places in the County Final and a chance to compete for the Mickey Cunniffe Cup at stake.
Saturday, September 26th – Gerry Gill Motors Junior Hurling Championship Final where Four Roads face St Dominic’s in Athleague at 6pm
Sunday, September 27th – Kepak Senior Hurling Championship Semi-Finals
Oran v Four Roads in Ballyforan at 1.30pm followed by St Dominic’s v Tremane at 3.30pm in the same venue.
There is also plenty of underage championship action taking place tomorrow, with a busy programme of football and hurling finals.
In the Connacht Gold U14 Division 2 Football Championship Final Replay, Kilbride face Western Gaels at 5pm in Enfield.
Earlier in the day, attention turns to Athleague for the MATA365 U14 Hurling Finals.
Four Roads take on Athleague/Tremane/Oran at 11am in the Shield final followed by Pádraig Pearses against Roscommon Gaels in the Cup Final at 12.45pm.

RosGal Loss Assessors Junior B Football Championship
There is also plenty of action in the RosGal Loss Assessors Junior B Football Championship, with the final few group games taking place across the weekend as teams look to finish their campaigns strongly and secure their positions in the knockout stages. The draw for the Junior B quarter finals will take next week and will be overseen by Roscommon CCC.

Congratulations once more to the Roscommon Gaelic Masters footballers on their superb All-Ireland Shield victory last weekend.
Congratulations also to Diarmuid Murtagh and Darragh Heneghan, who have both received nominations for the 2026 PwC All-Star Football Awards following their performances in the Primrose and Blue this season.
