Roscommon GAA Club Championship Set for Throw-In as Countdown Begins

The countdown is on to one of the most eagerly anticipated periods in the Roscommon GAA calendar, with the 2026 Roscommon GAA Senior, Intermediate and Junior Club Football Championships getting underway on Friday, 31st July.

Across the coming months, thirty-seven teams will compete across the Senior, Intermediate and Junior Football Championships, representing clubs from every corner of County Roscommon. With several clubs fielding teams in more than one grade, the championships promise another season of highly competitive football, highlighting the depth of talent, passion and pride that exists throughout the county. Players, mentors, volunteers, and supporters will once again play their part in creating the unique atmosphere that makes the Roscommon Club Championships so special.

In preparation for the new championship season, Roscommon GAA was delighted to hold its official Club Championship photography session at Strokestown Park House & The Irish National Famine Museum earlier this month. Representatives from all thirty-seven participating teams gathered in the magnificent surroundings of one of County Roscommon’s most iconic heritage locations for the annual championship photographs.

The occasion also brought together the valued sponsors of the three adult football championships. The Hodson Bay Group, proud sponsors of the Senior Football Championship, were represented by Tim Hayes (Managing Director) and Johnny Connaughton (General Manager). McNulty Furniture, sponsors of the Intermediate Football Championship, were represented by John Mee, Club Rossie Business Liaison officer while King & Moffatt, sponsors of the Junior Football Championship, were represented by Damian Glover (Director). Roscommon GAA sincerely thanks each of our championship sponsors for their continued support and commitment to Gaelic Games in the county.

Roscommon GAA also extends its sincere appreciation to Ger Ahern, John O’Driscoll, and Eilish Canty, together with the entire team at Strokestown Park House & The Irish National Famine Museum, for the warm welcome, outstanding hospitality and professionalism shown throughout the evening. Their assistance ensured the event ran seamlessly and provided a spectacular backdrop to showcase our players ahead of the championship.
