Former Roscommon player is remembered

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of John McDermott.
John was a member of the successful Roscommon senior team that dominated Connacht in the late seventies and reached the All-Ireland final in 1980. He was the goalkeeper on our 1979 NFL team that won the Division 1 Final against Cork.

Roscommon GAA Chairperson, Brian Carroll, has passed on his condolences; “On behalf of Roscommon GAA, I extend my deepest sympathy on the sad passing of John to his wife Mary, his sons Ken and Alex, his daughters Andrea & Niamh and all the extended McDermott family.”
