Roscommon Under 21 Manager Mark Dowd steps down.

Roscommon GAA Co Board Chairman Seamus Sweeney announced at the June meeting of Roscommon Co Board that under 21 manager Mark Dowd had informed him that he did not wish to be considered for the position of County Under 21 Team Manager for the 2017 season.

Mark Dowd managed Roscommon under 21s to the All Ireland semi final where they were beaten by Tyrone the eventual All Ireland Champions in the All Ireland Semi Final played in  Markievicz Park, Sligo last year. This year the under 21s were also beaten by the eventual All Ireland Champions Mayo in the Connacht Final which was incidentally also played in Markievicz Park.

Seamus Sweeney thanked Mark Dowd for all his work with Roscommon and wished him the very best of luck in the future.
